7/23: Single and Ready to Mingle

SINGLE NO MORE: If you’re single and tired of it, Manayunk Brewery has got a way to cure you of that nagging case of lonely-itis. The Seventh Annual Mid-Summer Singles After-Work Party will feature complimentary light food, fun icebreakers, giveaways, six select complimentary beer samples as well as complimentary margarita samples. Tickets cost just $9.99 in advance and $15 at the door. This will be a great way to meet new people and have some fun.

THE TRUFFLE SHUFFLE IN THE BATMOBILE: It’s a problem encountered every year. It’s summer and you want to be outside as much as possible, but you also want to snuggle up and watch a movie. But you can’t do both right? Wrong. Two timeless movies are playing outside tonight in the city. The epic film The Dark Knight will be screened at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing when it gets dark (around 8:30 p.m). But if Batman isn’t your thing, go "never say die"  with The Goonies at the Schuylkill Banks by the Walnut Street Bridge, also when it gets dark. And the best part is that both films will be free to attend.

KARAOKE 2.0:You’ve done the whole normal karaoke bit – get up on stage and sing along to the pre-recorded songs. Now step up your game and ditch the recorded nonsense. Paddy Whacks on South Street will present a live band to back up your vocals all night long. So get the pipes in check and show the world that you can really rock.
