Joining local fashion design talent like Commonwealth Proper, Kristin Haskins-Simms, and Bela Shehu, designer Sarah Marie Muhl is one to watch within Philly's fashion scene. Muhl's label, Make Love Not War (M.L.N.W), just launched online on November 1, promising "renewable fashions for the modern woman." One-of-a-kind, vintage materials compose the label's Fall/Winter 2012 collection, which draws inspiration from the rock-n-roll lifestyle lived by country music icons like Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton.
M.L.N.W.'s current look book depicts models hanging out in a '70s-era motel room, where we imagine the ladies are on break between tour dates, passing the time by smoking cigarettes, discussing their favorite LPs, and practicing the banjo. Our favorite looks? The Devil in Disguise Corset Dress ($300), complete with a black velvet, lace-up back detail, and the Navy Wiggle Skirt/Bow Tie Blouse combo, which retails for $250.
You'll find the collection available for purchase via the label's Etsy store.
