New Bike Shop Coming to West Philly

Keswick Cycle is getting ready to open a third store location. The bike shop, which already has two local stores -- Glenside and Cherry Hill -- will be setting up camp in University City, at 4040 Locust Street.

"We thought the Philadelphia market -- particularly West Philadelphia and University City -- was extremely under-served," Keswick Cycle Store Owner Brian Hackford tells The Feast. "There is a huge need for the type of quality products and services we provide."

Previously occupied by Urban Outfitters, the 3,500 square-foot space will provide plenty of room for the shop's inventory of bicycles and cycling accessories, from top-name makers like Cannondale, Cervelo, Specialized, Raleigh, Electra, Schwinn, and GT. "We will carry some of the same product, but it will definitely be skewed towards the commuter and city rider," says Hackford.

The store is slated to open in mid-August, just in time to cater to the needs of students returning to University City schools like Drexel and Penn.
