A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for our entire viewing area, expect for Delaware. The watch will continue through Friday evening and possible beyond that.
Showers started popping up again Thursday after a mid-day lull and they continued to develop over the next several hours.
Heavy storms -- some severe -- moved through Thursday evening with more heavy rain in areas already saturated. Radar shows some areas got more than 3 inches of rain Thursday, between the morning and evening storms.
We now have the wettest august ever recorded, with 12.23 inches after Thursday night’s storms -- and it’s only the 18th of the month!
More showers and storms will develop Friday, some possibly a bit before noon, and increasing during the afternoon. Heavy rain is expected in some local areas.
Computer models vary a bit on Saturday, but most suggest p.m. showers developing -- but not as bad as Thursday and Friday.
A cold front moves in late Sunday, probably with a line of heavy thunderstorms -- some could be severe.
The good news is, we'll start drying out on Monday!
