Today is the debut of the hotly-anticipated Talula's Garden, the collaborative effort between Stephen Starr and Aimee Olexy, matriarch of the Kennett Square market, Talula's Table. The space and concept was designed by Olexy, and is a very organic and comforting environment, featuring a huge cheese bar in the back, surrounded by living plants and grow lights.
The menu is very rustic in spirit, but the plates highlight modern techniques and forward-thinking presentation. Executive Chef Michael Santoro, formerly of Blue Duck Tavern in Washington, D.C. invited us into his kitchen to make some amazing Pea Soup, one of Olexy's favorite dishes. If you're lucky enough to grab a table at Talula's tonight, you can't leave without getting a bowl. [The Feast]
