Landing Gear? Overrated

An emergency landing briefly closed a runway at Philadelphia International Airport Sunday morning, delaying flights for hours.

A US Airways Express plane was heading in for a landing without its front landing gear down.

None of the 38 people on board were hurt and there was only minor damage to the plane.

The plane was flying from Allentown

At 8:20am, the crew notified the airport the landing gear did not descend correctly, airport officials said.

The plane circled the runway, then landed at 9:20am on runway 27L.

The airport closed for 25 minutes and the runway was closed for four hours, officials said.
