Philadelphia funnyman Kevin Hart is hosting the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.
Hart's hosting gig was announced via a promo video with celebrity couple Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.
The video shows the comedian talking to the two about the new "it" couple that -- unbeknownst to Kayne and Kim, involves all three of them. Hart continues by introducing the name of the couple, 'Kev-Ye-Kim.'
At last year's VMAs. the North Philly-native jokingly told the audience that MTV should have called him to host because he was available.
Guess MTV took the hint.
We will have to see what Hart has in store on September 6. The awards start at 8 p.m. on MTV.
