It's Beer O'Clock All Weekend

Soak up the suds at events around the city

Philly Beer Week is just over a month a way. And just like for a marathon, if you want to perform your best for it, training is key. This weekend, start getting yourself in prime condition at these various beer-centric events:

On Saturday afternoon at 1:00, Ironhill Brewery in West Chester hosts "Belgium Comes to West Chester," an annual event to celebrate Belgian beers. Guests will sample the wares of some of the finest East Coast craft breweries and discuss the finer points of the process with the brewers themselves.

Make reservations early for the "River Horse Beer Pairing and Tasting" at NoLibs' Standard Tap on Saturday night. Tickets for the Saturday event are $45 (cash only) and include a five-course meal with beer pairings. Doors open at 6:30, the event starts at 7:00.

On Sunday, the South Philly Tap Room is hosting its "Beef and Beer" from 3-6. For $40, you'll feast on sirloin and short rib tacos, and drink beer from SlyFox, Nodding Head and Philadelphia Brewing. Does it get any better?

Get your training in now so when Philly Beer Week finally rolls around in March, you'll be ready for it.
