NPR-lovers rejoice: "This American Life" host Ira Glass will take the stage locally Saturday, Jan. 24, for a performance at the Kimmel Center.
Glass’ show, entitled “Radio Stories and Other Stories,” will take a format familiar to fans of the radio show, in which Glass picks a theme and tells a collection of stories somehow related to it.
Tickets range in price from $29 to $40, and the show begins at 8 p.m.
Want to get in on a bit of the storytelling action yourself? Show up early—First Person Arts, Philadelphia’s organization of memoir and documentary appreciation, will host a free story slam in the Kimmel Center’s Commonwealth Plaza before showtime.
To participate, simply arrive with a personal story that somehow relates to the idea of “broke.”
...Not that we want to make any assumptions, but First Person Arts sure knows NPR’s core demographic, huh?
