Philadelphia’s largest Holocaust remembrance program will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The program aims to honor both the survivors and victims of the Shoah.
Many state and city politicians including Gov. Ed Rendell, Mayor Michael Nutter and U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter will be there to pay remembrance. They will join with religious and communal leaders in Sunday’s annual memorial ceremony for the six million Jewish martyrs.
Dr. Samuel Kassow, Professor of History at Trinity College, will be the keynote speaker of the event.
The event is sponsored by the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and the Association of Jewish Holocaust Survivors.
