Roof Collapses Trapping Worker

A roofer was hurt after being trapped under tons of materials that collapse through a Mercer County home.

Rescuers were called out to the three-story home located on the 1800 block of Greenwood Avenue in Hamilton Township, N.J. around 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to Hamilton Township Police.

The worker, a roofer for Six Stars Builders of Lawrenceville, N.J., was trapped after three tons of materials collapsed.

SkyForce10 captured one person on a stretcher being loaded into an ambulance. He was taken to Capital Health Fuld in Trenton. His condition wasn't released.

Ten people from two different apartments were displaced. Some were home at the time of the collapse but weren't hurt.

As Skyforce10 hovered overhead a square section of the roof could be seen completely caved in from above. Firefighters on ladders were inspecting the collapsed roof section.

The collapsed section is at the apex of the home, and part of a larger combination roof.

Hamilton Township Police say crews searched the home to see if anyone else was inside at the time of the collapse.

OSHA is expected to investigate.
