We have crazy love for David Ansill's work at Ladder 15, and they just announced a half-price burger deal-o taking place every Thursday after 5 p.m. at the Sansom Street superbar. Yes, that means the monstrously crazy Burger 15—made of prime sirloin, topped with short rib ragu, bone marrow, sauteed onions, and truffle jus—is only $7.50.
That price includes a platter complete with a side of fries and that insane truffle mayo. What this also means is that the regular burger rings in at a paltry $5. These recession special price tags are reminiscent of the famous 2009 Burger Wars that pitted Stephen Starr's Butcher Burger against Tommy Up's PYT marketing steamroller.
Of course, Ladder 15 still features Ansill's mix of bar snacks and his locally legendary dishes like the Steak Tartare, Korean Tacos, Duck Enchiladas, and his Warm Pig Trotters if you're not into the ground beef. Also, for you folks looking to save even more pennies, the Tuesday Night four-course $20 prix fixe is your absolute best option. [The Feast, Illadelph Blogspot]
