Funeral Plans, Fund Set for UPenn Doc Killed in Iraq

Due to a huge outpouring of public support the funeral service for Dr. John Pryor has been moved to the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Center CityPhiladelphia.

Pryor, a trauma doc at the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania, was killed on Christmas Day while serving as an Army reserves medic in Iraq.

The story hit a nerve all over the country. Users have expressed their thoughts about Pryor's death on NBC Philadelphia.com.

The larger venue will allow anyone who wants to pay his or her respects to Pryor to do so. The service was originally planned in Pryor's hometown of Moorestown, N.J.

The service will be held on Monday January 5 at 10 a.m., said officials with the Philadelphia Archdiocese.
