Invasive Plant Removal Corp - Mar. 7

This event may be volunteer work but it'll still be good for you and the environment. Help the Tyler Arboretum remove unwanted plants and weeds from their woods and meadows for a couple hours. Who knows you may feel good enough to become a longtime volunteer at the Arboretum after helping them clean up.


Drexel’s  Mediterranean Ensemble - Mar. 10

The Drexel University Mediterranean Ensemble will perform mostly Greek music in the Mandell Theater. Guest artists include Bill Koutsouros and Svitanya the Balkan women vocal ensemble.


Herbal Tea Making - Mar. 11

At Orion's Light Healing Arts Collective in Mt.Airy attendees will learn how to make their own tea. Besides learning the steps to tea making and the benefits of drinking tea, visitors can explore what else Orion's has to offer.


One Book One Philadelphia Graphic Art Contest Gallery - Ends Mar. 12

Located at Moore College of Art and Design is a gallery that features entries for a competition designed around a comic strip styled memoir  The Complete Persepolis. The entries are from students from four major art schools and is part of the One Book One Philadelphia program from the Free Library of Philadelphia.


Kids in Center City Saturday Playdate - Mar. 13

This play date is great for kids living near of just visiting the Center City area. Projects will be provided for children from the Franklin Institute, Walnut Street Theater, Philadelphia Art Alliance, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and Academy of Natural Sciences along with market merchants. Children also get to meet one of the hosts from the pre-school network Sprout along with Chica the Chicken from The Sunny Side Up Show.


Persian Dance Class - Mar. 16

The Independence Branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia will hold a Persian dance class. The dance class will include different styles of dance from areas of Iran. This exotic dancing can be great fun for any dance lovers out there looking to learn new moves.


Art Institute of Philadelphia Screening Event - Mar. 18

The Art Institute is having another of its screening events and you can come. The event is great for people to see what the digital film making and video production, Web design, visual effects and motion graphics and animation programs at the Art Institute have to offer.


A Taste of Africa - Mar. 21

Old City Coffee inside the Reading Terminal Market is having a coffee tasting and you're invited. The coffee will be from Africa and besides the coffee tasting a coffee brewing demonstration will be held and differences between different African coffees will be discussed.


Philagrafika 2010 - Ending Apr. 11

There are more than 80 places throughout the city of Philadelphia where printmaking is the main showcase. More than 300 artists have been involved with this art event according to Phillyfunguide.com.
