Food 52 Book Release at Delicatessen

Mega-influential food writer Amanda Hesser of Food 52 and The New York Times is in Philly tonight for the release of her latest effort, The Food 52 Cookbook. Hesser and co-author Merrill Stubbs will be at Delicatessen at 6:30 p.m. tonight, along with executive chef Ali Waks, who will be whipping up goodies for the crowd. Yards' Brewing will be in the house as well, pouring some fantastic brews to wash everything down.

The Food 52 Cookbook is a collection of the best user-submitted recipes on the blog, which have been tested and tightened up by professional cooks. Hesser believes that the best meals don't always come out of high-end kitchens, but at home, where practicality and inventiveness take center stage.

Tickets to the event are just $25, and can still be purchased at the door. Considering each guest will receive a copy of the book (which retails for $35), this is a great deal, and an opportunity to meet one of the most important women in food journalism today. [The Feast]
