Flying Fish Beer Dinner at The Corner

The Corner is hosting local legend Flying Fish Brewing for a special beer dinner on April 20. For $55, diners will be treated to a five-course meal prepared by executive chef John "Chainsaw" Taus and his crew, with each course featuring a different Flying Fish brew that will be incorporated into the dish.

"We love Flying Fish over here," said Taus. "Everyone is doing beer dinners, but we really want to highlight the beer itself, almost as much as the pairing. So the challenge is going to be bringing the flavor out of each brew in each dish."

Highly-decorated head brewer Casey Hughes of Flying Fish will be on hand to meet and greet diners and fans, and discuss the pairings.

"We're going to be bringing some of our favorites, and a few special brews," said Hughes. "The lineup will include Farmhouse Ale (American Blonde), Abbey Dubbel (Belgian Dubbel), HopFish (IPA), Exit 4 (Hopped Belgian Trippel), and a Bourbon-Barrel Exit 13 (Chocolate Stout)."

In other Flying Fish news, their Gold Medal-winning Exit 4 has reached the final four in the Washington Post annual suds competition, Beer Madness. The bracket includes the likes of Allagash, Dogfish Head, Avery Brewing, and Bells Brewing. Click on over and vote for the local brew, and help them bring home the title. [The Feast]
