Florence & the Machine Play Sunday

FRIDAY
Farewell to Oi: Sadly, we will have to say goodbye to one of our favorite dance parties in the city. The farewell England Belongs to Twee party will stomp through the upstairs of the Barbary tonight, bringing with it some hard-knuckled Oi, cardigan-ed pop, northern soul, rocksteady, two-tone and riot grrl. Join the sure-to-be rowdy crowd and yell at the top of you lungs on the dance floor. 10 p.m.

Back to Party School: If nu-dance, beat building, mash-ups are more your thing, the Danceteria party at Medusa is your best bet. Resident DJ Jay Yo will be packing them onto the little dance floor to get down and sweaty. 10 p.m.

SATURDAY
Watercolors and Wine: Realist, watercolor portrait artist Emily Satis-Smith will be exhibiting works tonight at the new center city boutique, Lucifer, so you can pick up some indie designer goods while adding to your art collection. 6-10 p.m.

Patio Party: And now for something copmpletely different, club-jam, dance-banger DJs Low Budget and Cool Hand Luke are throwing a new party, The Kensington Country Cub, on the deck of O'Reilly's Pub. The party will be going down every Saturday, so you'll have plenty of opportunity to get in your club dues. 3-9 p.m.

SUNDAY
Concerts on the River: Florence & The Machine seemed to pop up over night, with her powerful vocals and positive lyrics lighting up the MTV Video Awards, soundtracking a torrid scene in Gossip Girl or dominating the radio waves with her hit single "Dog Days Are Over." Tonight, you can catch the fiery singer live at the Festival Pier at Penns Landing. Bring along a blanket and your adult beverage of choice, it's going to be a wonderful Sunday.

Going out can be a gamble, so why leave it up to chance? Stack the deck every Friday by peeping Play's Weekend Bender
