‘Esquire': America's 37th Best Breakfast is in Philly

Okay, so its list is technically unranked—but Esquire magazine picked Washington Square’s Kanella (1001 Spruce St.) when it compiled a selection of the best breakfasts in the country.

But we can’t say we’re surprised they went with the Greek mecca’s Cypriot breakfast as their No. 37 pick: sunny-side-up eggs fried in olive oil with grilled haloumi and ham.

Paired with Turkish-style coffee (which means the beans are powdered and mixed with sugar), the breakfast begins to sound even better. If that’s possible… We mean, have you had haloumi before?
