Eat (and Drink) Up!

One of the best goes BYO on Thursdays

One of the best things about being a foodie in this town is the BYO policies. Not being gouged triple the price for a bottle of wine allows you to spend more on the food!

On Thursdays, Gayle Restaurant in Queen Village allows patrons to bring their own bottles (every other night of the week, the BYO policy doesn't apply) and for this meal, you'll want to dust off the bottles you've been saving for a special occasion. A $10 screw top bottle just won't do any justice at all to dishes like venison with cherry clafoutis and Brussels sprouts.

Chef Daniel Stern has won accolades for his "American creative" cuisine from Bon Appetit, Philadelphia Magazine and Food and Wine, among others. The restaurant offers both five- and eight-course tasting menus for $75 and $95 per person, respectively. Since you're saving money on the wine, might as well splurge on the eight-course menu, don't you think?
