Details on Duke & Winston's Shop

While we originally reported that Seun Olubodun's Duke & Winston showroom would be opening in October, it looks like fans of the Philly-made label will have to wait until mid-to-late November for the shop's unveiling. But Olubodun promises that the 633 North Second Street store will be well worth the wait, showcasing new and classic Duke & Winston products plus a smattering of friends' labels.

The designer is most excited to display his brand-new collection of polo shirts, which he describes as the "core" of the D&W brand. "I spent over a year designing the polos, testing out dozens of other polos to figure out the best fit, fabric, and details," Olubodun tells The Feast. "I will continue to add to the polo styles to include stripes, contrast collars, pockets and so on."

Other new additions to Olubodun's label include luxe dog beds and scented candles; shoppers will find both items at the new store. "I am most excited about [the dog beds] as they are my first foray into dog gear, which Duke [Olubodun's bulldog] insisted on me doing." As for the candles, the designer collaborated with a local shopkeep Matthew Izzo to create the scent, and "came up with the very unique packaging from an old-school image of the 1895 British rugby team." Olubodun tells us that the candles' smell "is very manly, which I feel is needed since we are always forced to deal with our girlfriends' and wives' girlie scents."

The D&W showroom will be open to walk-in traffic from Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 7 p.m. or by appointment.
