Dear Philadelphia, Your Beer is Back

Back by popular demand, Summer Love Ale, produced by Victory Brewing Company will be available on tap -- and this time, in bottles in 29 states.

The Chester County-brewed beer was released last summer and was so popular, Victory Brewing Company had to double and then triple the batches to keep up with demand.

The beer evolved out of a partnership between the city's tourism folks who work on the With Love, Philadelphia  XOXO campaign and Victory Brewing, which is in Downingtown.

"Summer Love Ale is a product of a love affair between a city and its beer," Meryl Levitz, president and CEO of The Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corp. said.

We've called Victory Brewing's approach to business,"Beer With a Conscience," because of what they stand for:

"We have a real passion for, not only brewing, but for sustainability. . .Affecting nature as little as possible is going to help us continue to get the best ingredients possible," co-founder Bill Covaleski told us when we profiled his company.

So when you throw back a Summer Love Ale, you can feel really good about the way they incorporated local resources to make the specialty-crafted beer, including water from the Brandywine Creek.

The brew will be ready in late May and you can check visitphilly.com/victory for local locations serving up Summer Love Ale.
