Crazy Susan's Fruity Cereal Cookie

Ingredients:
½ C finely ground (in processor) Fruit Loops w/ Sprinkles cereal
1 ¾ C all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
½ C (1 stick) unsalted butter (softened)
¾ C granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon orange zest
½ C sour cream

Whisk together cereal, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
Beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy about 1 minute. Beat in egg, vanilla and zest until blended.
Alternately, add flour mixture and sour cream mixture in two separate additions to butter mixture. Mix on low, to combine well after each addition.
Scoop 2 tablespoonfuls onto lined cookie sheets about 3 inches apart. Use a moist palm to just slightly pat down each ball of dough/batter.
Bake in pre-heated oven 350 degrees F for approx. 12-14 minutes. You will see a very slight golden brown at the edge of the cookie and a touch overall. It is just cooked threw more like a cake - the center should not be moist like the last cookie.
Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
Cookie Glaze:
 2 1/2 C confectioner’s Sugar - sifted
1 T corn syrup
2 T milk
2 T heavy cream
Fruity Pebbles slightly crushed as garnish or coating
In a medium bowl, whisk together the confectioner’s sugar, corn syrup, and 2 tablespoons of the milk and 1 T cream until smooth. Check consistency. If need add the last T. of cream or more a ½ t at a time until the glaze reaches the right consistency. Should spread easily and not be thick like a frosting.
Store in small container with lid.
Use small offset spatula to apply to (cooled) cookies that are still sitting on cooling rack. Place a sheet pan underneath the cooling rack to catch the glaze drips.
(I hold the cookie in my hand and ice over the bowl of glaze).
Immediately - while glaze is still wet, apply slightly crunched Flintstone Pebbles cereal (now hold glazed cookie over cereal bowl, sprinkle on. Excess cereal will fall back down into bowl). Place on rack to harden.
