Chef's Levin and Katz Get Corny Tomorrow

David Katz of Mémé and Matt Levin (of the the dearly departed Adsum) will be throwing down a corn-centric dinner at Katz' Spruce Street eatery tomorrow night. Tickets are $50 a pop, and there are seatings at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The dynamic duo will plate five courses and will have a little help from beverage manager Tom Pittakas, who will be pairing each course with corny cocktails.

Some of the dishes making an appearance are: Fried chicken served with 10 textures of corn; Japanese jack fish with popcorn purée; sea scallops with smoked corn cobbler and Armagnac cherries; and foie gras with corn sherbet, mascarpone spheres and burnt vanilla.

While the season for corn is quickly coming to a close, we can't think of a better way to celebrate our favorite summer vegetable than with those two loveable lugs. The only question we have is who's ridiculously great fried chicken will be getting the spotlight? [The Feast]
