Chef Jose Garces' Guapos Tacos Truck Ready To Roll

Chef Jose Garces (Amada, Distrito) has entered the food truck fray with Guapos Tacos ("good-looking tacos" in Spanish), his brand new belly-filler on wheels.

The maiden voyage was planned for this weekend, but apparently the metallic beauty needs a little more cosmetic surgery before her big debut. Marketing Manager Laura Vernola tells The Feast that Guapos Tacos will be available for events and parties at first, and will eventually make its way onto the streets of Philadelphia over the next month or so.

The menu is still undergoing some changes, but our favorite Distrito Tacos, the Lengua (tongue), will definitely be on the menu.

The truck itself is shiny and colorful, with an Alpine speaker setup for loud party music, and a textured, mosaic facade made up of thousands of little beer bottle caps.

The truck has already made one cameo appearance at an Industry Night hosted by Marc Vetri's newest trattoria, Amis.

Follow the taco truck on Twitter @GuaposTacos, or call Garces Restaurant Group at 215-625-2506 to summon a cameo near you.
