The Wawa Welcome America Festival kicks off today!
At 5 p.m. the festival’s director, Melanie Johnson, will cut a ribbon of red, white and blue balloons to kick off the celebration.
The ten-day event starts at the Chestnut Street entrance of Penn’s Landing.
After the ribbon cutting, over 25 of Philadelphia’s best restaurants and food trucks will be handing out samples at discounted prices. The “Taste of Philadelphia” celebration will continue until 9 p.m.
The “Taste of Philadelphia” will continue all 10 days.
Plus, Gerald Veasley and the Philadelphia Freedom Jazz Orchestra are set to perform a free concert.
The entire festival culminates Fourth of July with great fireworks at Penn’s Landing.
