Carnival In Philly

Never mind Lent, it's time to eat meat and samba!

Despite the fact that it’s a week after Ash Wednesday, Carnival kicks off tonight at Chima Brazilian Steakhouse. According to the restaurant website, Chima “has adapted the traditional Brazilian Carnival theme into a family-friendly festivity brought to life through thrilling entertainment and exquisite cuisine!” Guess that puts the kibosh on topless women and thong-wearing men. Oh well!

Despite the lack of full or partial nudity, this PG-rated Carnival celebration includes festive music, live entertainment, plenty of specialty cocktails (including $2 Caipirinhas) and 17 different kinds of meat served rodizio-style by coolot-wearing gauchos.

The carnivorous good time lasts from 6-8 tonight though Friday so bring your appetite and keep your clothes on!
