Free Sunday Admission at Brandywine

Willing to get up early on a Sunday?

No?

What if it means you can get something for free?

OK, so now you're interested. The Brandywine River Museum (1 Hoffman Mill Road, Chadds Ford, Pa) is offering free admission Sunday, Sept. 19 and Sunday, Sept. 26, between 9:30 a.m. and noon.

And right now, you'll also find the Fall Harvest Market in the museum courtyard, where you can shop for handmade items and maybe get an early start on holiday shopping.

While you're there, be sure to swing by Reality Check: Contemporary American Trompe l'Oeil, which opened Saturday, Sept. 11. These American trompe l'oeil ("fool the eye") paintings feature the work of a wide array of 20th-century artists, including Eric Conklin, Otto Duecker and Debra Teare. This exhibit runs through Nov. 18.

Since you saved money on admission, you might want to spring for an audio tour -- but you'll also get a deal on those. Buy one and get one free.
