We've been hearing talk about Birra, the wood-fired pizza project on East Passyunk Avenue, since March of this year. Today comes official word that they will be cutting the ribbon Saturday night, and turning out those delicious pies. While Birra will eventually serve lunch, they'll start out as a dinner-only joint until November 15, while they get timing the pizza production sorted out.
The restaurant will focus on the traditional pairing of pizza and beer, but gets crafty with the brew and features high-end ingredients on the pies. We got all menu crazy with them a few weeks back, so peep the goods to get you ready for tomorrow night. We call dibs on the escargot pizza, and will come back with a full report. [The Feast]
