Abraham Lincoln is getting props from everyone these days. Recently, he's been the subject of conversation more than Brangelina's twins. What is the world coming to?!
Tonight, Art In The Age storefront and gallery unveils its Lincoln Memorial Tableaux exhibit in honor of the iconic president's 200th birthday. The works represent the best after a nationwide call for entries in which artists were asked to interpret Abe in any medium. Final works include paintings, drawings, prints and textiles that capture his words, image and moments in history (or all three). The opening reception goes from 6-8 tonight, making it a must-see stop along a First Friday tour (particularly because the event is being sponsored by Hendrick's Gin).
Isn't it nice to celebrate the life of someone who actually did something meaningful, for a change?
