Beetlemania Comes to Philly!

The Academy of Natural Sciences hosts their annual bugfest.

A festival dedicated to the Beetles is coming to our area this weekend, but we don’t mean the band.

The Academy of Natural Sciences is hosting their annual Bugfest this weekend, and this year, it is Beetlemania!

The festival, which runs both Saturday and Sunday (8/13 & 8/14) at the Museum, features wide variety of activities. They include: Bug walks, roach races, robotic beetles, and the amazing bee beard, just to name a few.

Perhaps our favorite event is the bug tasting. This year’s delectable dishes to be served will be cricket chocolate chip cookies, and other beetle inspired treats.

But just in case you were looking for a festival about the popular band, Beatles tribute band BritishMania will perform two shows daily at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Bugfest is free with general admission to the museum. Admission is $12 for adults and $10 for kids between the ages of 3 and 12. The museum is open from 10 a.m.-5p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
