Beer + Games Concept Hitting Fishtown

Our favorite pairing in the whole world is beer and video games. Lucky for us, Barcade is about to open their doors up in Fishtown, and are bringing both in mass quantities. Inc.com is reporting that owner Scott Beard has moved to Philly, and is feverishly restoring a burnt out warehouse that will be open to the public in early September. We hear Barcade will feature 24 taplines of American craft greatness at around $5 -$6 a pop, which is the going rate these days.

The lineup of games includes classics like Rampage, Tetris, Arkanoid, Gauntlet, and Galaga. There's even a version of Asteroids that uses a mirror to create a 3D effect. There's a souped of version of Ms. Pacman that runs at twice the speed of the original, for those who want to test their skills.

Of course, being in Philly means gaggles of great local beer, and Barcade is doing God's work bringing in special brews up North. Hey Barcade, if you're listening, may we suggest getting down with Sly Fox and their extensive line of cans? What could be better than playing Outrun with a beer in your hand? It's how we drive anyway. [The Feast, Inc.com]
