Barrels on the Brandywine has begun and despite a failing economy, wine drinkers are ready to spend money this month for a taste of the past year's most perfectly formented vintages.
Every Saturday and Sunday in March from noon until 5 p.m., local wineries open their cellars so that you, the connoiseur, can have a taste...and some food, maybe a tour, enjoy music, art shows and other special events.
Visitors can purchase "passports" online for $25 which include a tasting at each winery and a Wine Trail glass. Admission to the special events as well as food is also included in the passport price.
