A few years ago, Friday nights would find you hitting up Happy Hour at the closest bar with co-workers at exactly 5:01. You'd drink too much, scarf down a plate of cheese fries and talk smack about your office nemesis… only to find her sitting a few seats away. ("Did she hear me?!") You'd stumble home, completely wasted at 9:00 and pass out in your clothes on the couch.
Thank goodness those days are behind you (except for a few one-offs here and there, no one's perfect!). Now you seek out more low-key affairs that enable you to unwind and take a breath after a long work week. Especially for grown-ups like you, the Philadelphia Art Museum is keeping its doors open late on Friday nights to offer Art After 5. From 5:00-8:45, emerging and recognized jazz musicians perform in the Great Stair Hall, which is transformed into a cabaret for the event with table service, cocktails, appetizers and dessert. Stroll through the galleries, listen to music and/or have a drink, all for the price of museum admission. It'll feed your soul a lot better than those cheese fries!
