A.C. Casinos Desperately Need Hooters

Atlantic City is desperate to increase revenue in December

Atlantic City refuses to fold.  With revenue down and December looking grim, A.C. casinos are calling on hooters to keep the gamblers in action--Hooters girls that is.

The Hooters call-up is just one of the crazing antics casinos are putting in play in a desperate effort to keep customers at the tables and slots during December, which is usually a slow month.

For instance, the Tropicana will stage its own version of Pamplona’s running of the bulls December 13. Participants dressed as Santa will run through the casino chasing Hooters girls.

Tropicana also invested in seven snow machines that will pump out more than 100 feet of fake snow.

They will also raise the bar on who is hot or not in their Sexy Santa Contest.

If you really want to hit the tables, Trump Marina Hotel Casino is luring gamblers with a $1 million blackjack challenge where players can advance to a tournament on January 3.

The current, tough economic times and competition from N.Y. and Pa. slot parlors have hurt A.C.’s gambling revenue this year.

Last December, revenue fell 10.6 percent, which was before the economy was in the red.
