A Famous Medical Case Makes for a Great Film Screening

As part of the What's Up, Doc? Film Series, the Bryn Mawr Film Institute is showing a special screening of "The Elephant Man."

This 1980 film was based on a famous medical case and documents the story of John Merrick, a disfigured man, who is rescued from the circus by a doctor. The two become great friends.

"The Elephant Man" was nominated for eight Oscars and stars John Hurt and Anthony Hopkins.

The film begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be introduced by Bryn Mawr Hospital plastic surgeon, Dr. R. Barrett Noone. Tickets are $6.75 to $9.50 and can be purchased at the Bryn Mawr Film Institute box office.
