9/18-9/19: Blues, Burgers and the Boardwalk

R&B Fest: Make a stop in University City Saturday for the all-day Rhythm and Blues Fest. Eat, shop and hear all the best in funk, soul and blues. A Night to Remember: Raise awareness and funds for ovarian cancer Saturday at Philly Pub ‘N Grub. Benefitting the Melanie Finley Ovarian Cancer Foundation, the night full of fun will include complimentary cocktails, appetizers, a silent auction and live music. Italian Laugh Pack: Fuh-gedda-bout your plans on Saturday because we’ve got something better. The Italian Laugh Pack better known as Pat Cooper, Dom Irrera and Tammy Pescatelli invade the Keswick Theatre. Come out for non-stop laughs and maybe even an Italian dinner. Beer & Burgers: Don’t feel like cooking on Sunday? Whether you’re in the need for a lunch or dinner, stop in Slainte Pub for their $10 burger and beer (or bloody Mary) special. Build your own burger and top it off with any of the 25 beers the pub offers. As always, you can also substitute your beer for one of their specialty bloody Marys. Boardwalk Empire: This Sunday night visit APO (102 South 13th Street), Franklin Bar (112 South 18th Street) or Mahogany (1524 Walnut Street) to celebrate HBO’s new show, Boardwalk Empire. Stop in any of the select speakeasies for a free drink and be sure to watch the Scorsese drama premiering that night on HBO, 9 p.m.
