Worth the Trip: Blue Cross Broad Street Run

On your mark, get set and go! The 35th annual Blue Cross Broad Street Run is on Sunday, May 3.

The 10-mile course starts at the Central High School Athletic Field at Broad Street and Somerville Avenue and finishes inside th Philadelphia Navy Yard. 

Runners will pass through many distinct landmarks and neighborhoods of the City of Brotherly Love along Broad Street. 

Keep an eye out for City Hall, the Avenue of the Arts and the Philadelphia Stadium Complex -- home to many sporting events. 

Free parking will be available to participants near the finish line at Broad and Pattison at the Stadium Complex. From the complex, the SEPTA Broad Street subway line will transport runners to the starting point free of charge.

All runners must wear their race number on their shirts to get the complimentary parking and subway ride. Fans can watch the race in person on the route, or right here on NBC10.com.

Organizers expect the run to attract huge crowds of more than 30,000 runners and spectators.
