Landmark A.C. Sub Shop Reopens After Sandy

White House Sub Shop back in operation after being damaged by Superstorm Sandy

A landmark Atlantic City sandwich shop is reopening Thursday after repairing damage caused by Superstorm Sandy.

White House Sub Shop will operate between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the Arctic Avenue location where it has been for more than 65 years.

Co-owner Brian Conleytells The Press of Atlantic City that the booths are the same and the stools are in the same place.

The owners had to replace refrigeration units, a water heater and other equipment damaged by Sandy.

As the store was closed, longtime customers would come in looking for their favorite sandwiches.

“I don’t know how many people I’ve had to apologize to,” Conly told the Press of A.C.
