Manayunk Festival Featuring Seasonally Inspired Food

Main Street Manayunk will host its fourth street food festival on Saturday.

From 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., over 30 food trucks and farm stands will align parking lots and curbs from Green to Shurs Lanes.

Once again, the Manayunk Development Corporation has asked participants and local businesses to feature a seasonal symbol in their creations.

"We love challenging our restaurants and retailers to include strawberries into their menus and store displays," said MDC executive director Jane Lipton.

Foodies can look forward to strawberry dishes like cheese curds with strawberry dipping sauces, meatballs stuffed with strawberry jam, and strawberry and cream cake cups.

Among the local gourmet vendors are area food truck favorites including Mama's Meatballs, Mesa Fresh Mexican Grill, Phoebes BBQ, and Ka 'Chi Truck.

Samosa Deb, Philadelphia's only Indian food truck, will cater, as will Bryn and Dane's, a first-time participant that Philly Hot List called "the best healthy lunch spot."

In addition to food, booths will sell oils and vinaigrettes, kitchenware, and offer "food-centric" arts and crafts.

StrEAT also signals the start of Restaurant Week in Manayunk. From Sunday, April 13 until Friday, April 25, 22 restaurants will offer three-course menus priced at $15, $25, and $35.
