Springsteen's โ€œBig Manโ€ Get His Own Day

A bigger than life rock-and-roll legend now has his own day.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has signed a resolution declaring Jan. 11 Clarence Clemons Day. That's the day Clemons was born.

Clemons was an original member of Bruce Springsteen's Jersey-based E Street Band, known for his saxophone solos and huge stage presence. He was immortalized in the song โ€œTenth Avenue Freeze Outโ€ with the lyric โ€œthe change was made uptown and the Big Man joined the band.โ€

Clemons died in 2011 from complications of a stroke at age 69.

Christie, a huge fan of โ€œThe Boss,โ€ has been to 130-plus Springsteen concerts and even has even joined NBCโ€™s Late Night host Jimmy Fallon for a singing rendition of the E Street Band classic โ€œThunder Road.โ€

Christie also ordered flags in the stae to be flown at half-staff in the days following Clemons' death.

Monmouth County Sen. Jennifer Beck proposed the resolution.
