‘The Voice' Star Rocks Atlantic City for Free & You Can Still Get Tickets

One of music’s biggest stars is set to rock for free Atlantic City today and you can still get in on the fun.

Country star Blake Shelton will play the free concert along the beach between Caesar’s Pier (Arkansas Avenue) and Central Pier (St. James Place).

Organizers hope the concert by the star of NBC’s The Voice and Sunday's show by fellow country superstars Lady Antebellum helps boost the struggling Atlantic City economy hit hard by recent casino closings by bringing thousands of fans to the Jersey Shore resort.

"We are hoping we are going to have a lot of business," said boardwalk shop owner Mohammad Ascher.

Shelton is expected to hit the stage until 6 p.m. but fans will already be allowed into the ticketed area starting at 10 a.m.

That’s right, the event might be free but that doesn’t mean you don’t need a ticket. About 60,000 tickets were already distributed. Fans looking to still get their hands on one can head to the Farley Plaza along the Atlantic City Expressway Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. as several hundred tickets are distributed.

Once those tickets are gone, they are gone. If you can't grab a ticket you can try to listen to the show by standing along the Atlantic City Boardwalk.

Organizers expect Shelton to hit the stage around 6 p.m. Opening act Dan & Shay are expected to begin playing around 4 p.m.
