The 2014 Mummers Parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. on New Year's Day as the first divisions begin strutting up Broad Street. Here's what you need to know.
THE DIVISIONS
There are five divisions that will take part in the parade: The Comics, Comic Wenches, String Bands, Fancy Divisions and Fancy Brigades. The first four will all perform along the parade route. The Fancy Brigades will march for part of the route and then head to the Pennsylvania Convention Center to perform one of two shows -- one at noon and another at 5 p.m.
THE PARADE ROUTE
The parade route runs north along Broad Street from Oregon Avenue at the southern end to City Hall up north.
Parade goers can watch the Mummers from any spot along Broad Street, but there are four intersections where set performances will be held. They are: Broad and Shunk, Broad and Washington, Broad and Pine & Broad and Sansom.
Not every division will start marching from the same location so the northern performance areas are best to see all groups.

Judging will take place in front of LOVE Park at 16th and JFK Streets for all groups -- with the exception of the Fancy Brigades, who are judged at the convention center.

THE START TIMES
Each division has a different start time from a separate location along South Broad Street. Here are the start times:
- The Comics | 9:30 a.m. | Broad and Washington
- The Comic Wenches | 10:30 a.m. | Broad and Dickinson
- The Fancy Divisions | 10:45 a.m. | Broad and Passyunk
- The String Bands | 10:30 a.m. | Broad and Shunk
- The Fancy Brigades | 1 p.m. | Broad and Oregon
