Actor Sam Jones III was sentenced to one year in prison for conspiring to sell drugs illegally

Not even being friends with Superman can help him now.

Sam Jones III, who has played Clark Kent's buddy Pete Ross on the first three seasons of the hit CW series "Smallville," was sentenced to a year in prison on charges he conspired to sell 10,000 doses of the painkiller Oxycodone.

DEA agents raided his Canoga, California home in 2009 and discovered the illegal stash as well as evidence that Jones was part of a drug ring known as "the Hollywood Connection."

To make matters worse, Jones' girlfriend, Karissa Shannon, moved out of his apartment and moved back into the Playboy Mansion to be closer to old boyfriend Hugh Hefner. Shannon and her sister were the infamous "Shannon Twins" who began dating Hef - alongside "runaway bride" Crystal Harris - after his breakup with the "Girls Next Door" trio of Kendra Wilkinson, Holly Madison, and Bridget Marquardt.

The 28 year-old appeared optimistic, however, tweeting after his sentencing "Just got out of court! God is great!!"
