Sarah Palin Joining Fox News as Contributor

Former Alaska gov will appear on several shows as pundit

Sarah Palin has signed on to become the latest celebrity GOP'er to join Fox News as a contributor, network officials said Monday.

Palin, the ex-Alaska governor, will feature regularly on the network but is not scheduled to host her own show during what has been described as a multi-year deal, the New York Times reported. How much the former vice presidential candidate is being paid was not disclosed, according to the Times.

Palin joins other prominent GOP figures like Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich and Mike Huckabee who have been contributing to Fox News as pundits. According to the Los Angeles Times, Palin will appear as a commentator on Fox News shows and will host a series that profiles regular Americans.

Media insiders and political observers speculated the move is designed to keep Palin in the public eye while she plans a bid for the presidency in 2012.
