Hulk Hogan's Ex-Wife Feared For Her Life

Even under the glare of reality TV cameras, not all of the Hogan family's dirty laundry was brought to light.

Linda Hogan, ex-wife of pro wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, reveals in her new book, "Wrestling the Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes," that there were times when her husband's frequent "rages" would have her fearing for her life.

“He tore my shirt. He threw lamps. He held me down on the bed with his hands around my throat during arguments, slamming doors, pounding walls,” she writes. “I was always afraid he would kill me in one of his rages.”

While promoting the book on NBC's "Today" show, Hogan put the blame for these episodes - none of which were captured for their "Hogan Knows Best" reality TV cameras - on the myriad prescription drugs her husband took to combat various injuries sustained during his long wrestling career.

“Drugs were always around — prescribed,” she says. “There was a constant flow of pain pills, anti-inflammatories, steroids — a lot of them did take steroids. Combined? You don’t know what you’re dealing with.”

She goes on to claim that Hogan made no effort to change or apologize for his alleged abuses.

“He did not feel remorse — and to this day he’s never apologized for any of his actions — but that is something that scared me,” she sail. “I did not want to be a statistic like Nicole Simpson.”
