“Girls” Season 2 Trailer Promises Hookups, Murder and Guest Stars

The two-minute promo is better than most movie trailers

Is it Jan. 13 yet?!

Lena Dunham and the rest of Girls' girls are set to return for the HBO hit series' second season on that exact date, and after watching the first trailer for the new batch of episodes over and over again, we're officially beginning our countdown. In the two-minute promo, which is better than most movie trailers, we get a glimpse of what season two will bring for Hannah (Dunham), Marnie (Allison Williams), Jessa (Jemima Kirke) and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet), and that glimpse is freakin' awesome...

Find out how many episodes the second season of Girls will have

Hannah: The trailer begins with Hannah and new roomie Elijah (The New Normal's Andrew Rannells) watching a video of Adam (Adam Driver) singing about his split with our heroine. "You destroyed my heart," he sings, leading to Hannah calling him "a sociopath." (We could've told you that, oh, two episodes into season one, girl!) "What if he's murder-y in a murder way?" Hannah questions after receiving creepy texts from Adam ("I saw you turn your lights off," one reads.) Still, it seems as though the aspiring writer (and the voice of a generation) can't quite shake her Adam habit. "You're the best thing in my life. My affection for you cannot be repressed."

Of course, there will be new guys in her life, including Community's Donald Glover and Patrick Wilson, both of whom are featuring kissing Hannah.

Marnie: "I have no boyfriend, no job," the straitlaced one says, but we do see her spending quality time with ex Charlie (Christopher Abbott) and finally hooking up with fan-favorite guest star Jorma Taccone, who plays artist Booth Jonathan. We also get our first look at Rita Wilson as Marnie's mother on the show, who tells her young daughter, "You look 30 years old!"

Why Dunham totally deserves that $3.5 million book advance

Jessa: Following her surprise wedding, the resident bohemian seems to be happy in her marriage to Thomas-John (Chris O'Dowd), despite the fact that she barely knows him (she doesn't even know his address). Well, she seems pretty happy up until we see her punch her new husband. (Hope the wedding gifts are refundable!)

Shoshanna: Our little girl has grown up! After losing her virginity to Ray (Alex Karpovsky) in the season one finale, Shoshanna says, "I may be deflowered, but I am not devalued!" Preach! Of course, she's still getting cozy with Ray...and offering Marnie life advice while in bed with him.

Girls returns Jan. 13 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
