The Salahis struck again.
White House party crashers Tareq and Michaele Salahi showed up on the set of the "Late Show with David Letterman" unexpectedly (well ...), as the talk show host was doing his monologue. The pair, which made headlines in November when they got into a White House state dinner uninvited, strode out onto the stage and flanked the gap-toothed comic, posing for a photo as the audience broke out in laughter.
"See, it's interesting to me," Letterman joked, according to the release. "For all practical purposes, they're trespassing. But, the crowd goes wild!"
The appearance came hours after the couple were guests on NBC's "Today" show, where the apologized to President Obama and called the gate crashing incident a "misunderstanding."
The couple said they believed they had been invited to the dinner by an assistant to Secretary of Defense Robert Gates.
"It's been a series of misunderstandings," Michaele Salahi told Lauer.
The couple said that although the case is still officially under investigation, they believe they're in the clear based on the fact that President Obama joked about the incident at the White House Correspondents Dinner.
"Recently we saw the Vice President Biden and President Obama speak at the correspondents dinner and joked about us. That's why we decided to come today," Michaele Salahi said. "We thought, 'If they can joke about a us, maybe it's time for everyone to move forward'."
