Bon Jovi Opens New Giants/Jets Stadium

Bon Jovi has officially opened the new stadium for the New York Giants and New York Jets with a rock concert for 65,000 fans.

The New Jersey band launched Wednesday's show at New Meadowlands Stadium with "Blood on Blood," ''We Weren't Born to Follow" and "You Give Love a Bad Name."

Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi grew up in Sayreville, 30 miles southwest of the East Rutherford stadium. He told the crowd he was "the first guy to get on a big microphone and say welcome to the home of the Super Bowl!"

The NFL announced Tuesday the stadium would host the championship game in 2014.

The Giants and Jets own the stadium and are looking to cut a naming rights deal. Their previous home was Giants Stadium, where Bruce Springsteen played the last concert in October.
