Look at All This Stuff

If you're looking for it, you'll find it

For about the price of a new Ford Taurus, you can own the head of a Tyrannosaurus rex.

Not just any T. rex -- it's the one from "Jurassic Park." And at a minimum bid of $30,000 it's a bargain compared to the real thing, which also went up for auction this month.

If a head full of teeth doesn't appeal to you, another pre-historic item -- an Apple Macintosh 128 computer given to Gene Roddenberry -- is available. Or maybe you have to have Sally Field's nun habit from "The Flying Nun," Captain Kirk's pants, or the fake Sig 226 Tony Soprano used to shoot Sal "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero.

That's hardly even a sampling of the 1,100 items up for bid during Profiles in History's Fall 2009 Hollywood memoriabilia auction. The auction includes props, costumes, posters, photography, scripts and original artwork.

One of the more timely items is Michael Jackson's illuminating glove from the 1984 Victory Tour. A search using "jackson" returns 28 results, including clothes worn by The Jackson 5 -- much more appropriate for a Jackson 5 skit than some other ill-conceived choices.

And, if you like puppets -- there are a lot of retired puppets. Even puppets need good homes.

The auction is Thursday and Friday. Bids will be accepted in-person or online.
