‘Real Housewives of Potomac' to Debut

“The Real Housewives” are coming to a neighborhood near you.

"The Real Housewives of Potomac" will premiere on Sunday, Jan. 17, Bravo announced Wednesday.

The network went public with the show about the Montgomery County town it calls “Maryland’s fabulous best-kept secret” by releasing a trailer for the new season.

“Here in Potomac, new money’s good, but old money is so much better,” cast member Karen Huger says in the preview of the show.

“The Real Housewives of Potomac” will follow the lives of six affluent women in the town Bravo calls "a hidden gem" just "up the river from our nation's capital."

"Its rolling hills, gated mansions, sophisticated prep schools and exclusive country clubs all serve to keep the area invitation-only," Bravo said in a statement. "Sprinkled throughout this community are a handful of old-line, wealthy African-American families who have historically broken racial barriers to provide the best life possible for their children."

The women set to star in the series include Ashley Darby, who was named Miss District of Columbia in 2011, and Katie Rost, a model and TV personality. Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Charrisse Jackson-Jordan and Robyn Dixon also will be cast members.

This is the network’s second try in the D.C. area, after “The Real Housewives of D.C.” was quickly taken off the air in 2010.
